We’re big fans of the work of Charles and Ray Eames and their vital contributions to furniture and industrial design, films, exhibitions, toys and architecture.

We recently re-watched their documentary, “Powers of Ten”. The Eameses believed that both the problems and opportunities of the world are mainly matters of scale. They believed that a deep understanding of scale will make us better citizens and help us find answers to the world’s biggest challenges. “Powers of Ten” is a tool in achieving an understanding of the relative size of things in fresh and powerful new ways.

We love this quote from Charles Eames—
“Eventually everything connects—people, ideas, objects…the quality of the connections is the key to quality per se…I don’t believe in this ‘gifted few’ concept, just in people doing things they are really interested in doing. They have a way of getting good at whatever it is”.
